Cross Country Skiing in the Adirondacks:
The Great VIC Rock Ski Challenge
Saturday, 15 March 2014

We’ll ski if you will! Based on conditions, we will pick a 5 or 10 kilometer course that offers the most possibilities for fun on skis. Registration opens at noon. The race starts at 1:00 PM following the Adirondack Paintball Biathlon. The entry fee is $20 per person or $15 for Friends of the VIC. Hot beverages, prizes and snacks provided.
What is rock skiing? Rock skiers ski when conditions are less than ideal, generally on trails with limited snow cover, often in spring at the end of the ski season. Rock skiers usually use older skis, since the rough conditions are hard on equipment.
